Bubble Light Stand

Every year I love seeing seasonal colour schemes and trends that fellow makers and professional designers come up with.

I can’t say I’ve never flipped through a magazine, scrolled through social media, or walked down the seasonal aisles for ideas, however I tend to stick to what invokes all the feels when decorating for Christmas.

Things of the past, rustic/primitive are my favorite things on a good day, it’s no exception at Christmas

We found some bubble lights while thrifting a few years ago, pretty sure they are reproductions but that’s ok. Watching them lit up bubbling away takes me to an era I don’t recall at all but wish I could be transported to, I assume these were before my birth on the cusp of the 80s.

I reached into our scrap wood pile and pulled out a 2×2, painted it red,and distressed it a bit.

I used all round metal strapping (commonly used to hang pipes) to attach the lights to the back of the 2×4

Then I found some wooden snowflakes I literly screwed to the front, I wasn’t kidding when I said I love rustic.

Simple, rustic, and practical, if you are familuar with bubble lights you know sometimes you have to shake them to get them to bubble!

No more having to shake each light individually, with this stand a quick shake activates them all.

  1. Saved this so I can remember to make it! I think I’d much rather have primitive and “vintage” than new and glittery. Can you believe we’re vintage? 😂😂
