Christmas crafting is happening in this house, but it’s no secret it is not what it should be, the process is slow and my heart is not in it as it should be, because of what’s going on in the world and as well as my own world.
Among the health issues, we had another adult child move out this year and are pretty much empty nesters with only an almost 16 year old in the house.
I was born to be a mom and do mom things, sadly that doesn’t exist forever and I find myself trying to find myself now on top of struggling with many health conditions that just won’t let up.
This project was done with help from Mr D, I needed no real help with it but motivation was well needed and he chugged me along with some ideas for it and to execute the build.
We set out to build a crate shadow box
We used 9 inch wide pine board cut to 4 inches wide for 2 sides and the back 9 inches x 12, and 1x2x12 inch pine slates for the other 2 sides, 3 each side ,and a piece of plexi glass to fit the front (measure after it’s built)
We stained and painted the wood to look like reclaimed chippy white boards.
YOU CAN SEE THE TECHNIQUE I USE HERE
After filling it with thrifted teal ornaments, Mr D did the cutting down of the plexi glass for me to fit on the front, and used 4 small screws to attach it on the corners.(pre drilling the holes in the plexi glass is a must)

I hope Seasonal crafting is keeping you as happy as possible on your side of the world.
If your feeling the stress of 2020 for whatever reason let me leave you with this song off of my Christmas playlist, one of my faves long before this year but I’ve had it on repeat a few times this season. No matter how you “pray” let it comfort you.
MY CHRISTMAS PRAYER
ROB THOMAS AND BEBE WINANS
I pray for peace
Blessings and honor
Heaven right earth’s despair
This is my Christmas prayer
For those that grieve
God will bring comfort
Laughter will rapture there
This is my Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer
I pray for you (Yes I know you do)
That your triumph and conquer
Poses the strength you need to bare
This is my Christmas prayer
For those in need
There would be plenty
And each other’s burdens share
Oh, this is my Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer, Oh
So let hope fill our hearts (Let’s let hope fill our hearts)
Shine the light through the dark
All around the world
And everywhere
I will pray
This Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas
This is my Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer
This is my Christmas prayer
