This whole year I have more then ever been using what I have on hand and using cheap, easily purchased supplies.
I’m no “artist” but I try
Good thing I love rustic / primitive / folk art vibes I get away with not creating kindergarten type crafts lol
For these I started with 2 plastic Christmas ornaments from the dollar tree
I removed the hooks and spray painted them black lightly for an aged look.
Then with matte mod podge I covered the balls with tissue paper for a paper mache look
I cut templates out from cereal box cardboard and traced them onto my base painted balls, I also used some carbon paper for some of the face parts. ( pencil rubbed hard on the back of a template works in a pinch too)
I painted them with micheals brand craft paints, good thing I always have some on hand, paint in this town was as hard to aquire as toilet paper.
I spray coated them with rustoleum clear matte spray paint.
Oh and the orange paint is leftover behr paint from our pumpkins lawn decor I repainted this year.
The bed springs were a thrift find years ago, they stay on the ladder all year with different toppers
I made 2 sets of these; one set is on our pallet tree that I’ve decorated for Halloween and hope to share soon.
