WEEK 6 OF PAUSE

Here in our part of the world our state of emergency started the week the kids were on March break, meaning here we go into week 6 now.

You’d think during the pandemic I’d find more time to craft but that’s not the case.
Between our puppy guy and the blues I’m barley putting along let alone crafting.

Did manage to start and finish some things that I thought I’d pop in and share.

Besides the odd craft to keep my mind and soul occupied I have been continuing with raising our newest fur baby and my cleaner eating lifestyle, 25 pounds shed and counting.

The work outs are not as they once were between the puppy and my recent blood work that shows my anemia is the worst ever (seems every blood work I find myself saying that, and with a count of 2 there isn’t much further down to go.

I hope with the clean eating when I finally can get in for my infusions they will take, at least longer then a few months.

I hope if your here reading you are doing ok, finding your reasons to get up every morning during all of this.

Everything pretty much is closed, a lot have curb side pick ups including Michaels, but having chronic illnesses I stay inside!,so for crafting I have been using what I have, on a good note my craft closet is regularly stocked

I made this bag with cotton yarn I had, I made it thinking of summer and hopes of a day at the beach. I have not felt up to doing much as I said earlier, I don’t go on my pc often, the pattern was written on my phone as I went and it is below the photo, my apologies for any mistakes

CHAIN 3, SKIP 1 HOLE AND DO HDC IN THE NEXT HOLE

CHAIN 2, SKIP NEXT HOLE THEN HDC IN NEXT, REPEAT AROUND FOR A TOTAL OF 48 BIG HOLES,

CHAIN 3 AND REPEAT ABOVE, WORKING YOUR HDC INTO THE HOLE AND NOT STITCHES, ALWAYS HAVING 48 HOLES AT THE END OF THE ROW

WORK UP 26 ROWS OF THESE WIDE HOLES

NOW CHAIN 2 AND WORK 2 HDC INTO EACH WIDE HOLE (96sts) chain 2

Work 1 hdc in each around for 4 more rows (96sts) chain 2 except after the last row chain 3

For this next row do DC into each hole around (96sts) chain 2

Do 2 to 4 more rows of HDC around (96sts)

Cast off and weave in your ends

Use 1/2 inch ribbon for drawstring or crochet a draw string
Or use a jersey fabric ribbon strip from an old T-shirt

For a double side pull drawstring, start one string on the side of the bag, weaving end and out of the stitches (posts), then repeat on the opposite side, tie the 2 ends together on each side

You want to cut your ribbon by measuring across your bag on one side hanging your ribbon off one end by 2 to 3 inches

Then fold the ribbon over to cut twice that length, (cut 2 the same length)

Here I used a plastic canvas fish I made and added fabric and some plastic type “tin” (it’s the bags hubz coffee comes in) and buttons for eyes on felt. Hot glued on a dollar tree canvas painted to look distressed wood

  1. Love the signs and also the colors you used for your crochet projects. Just can’t crochet and I have tried and tried. Guess my brain only has room for other things. I have been busy making a sewing corner for my family and I. It is fun trying to figure out what to use that we have around our house since we have been on lock down too. You and your family stay safe and have a beautiful week. I bet that puppy is super cute, so sweet.
