I look around this year I am pleasantly surprised at the Halloween trend this year, faux vintage. The stuff looks real don’t get me wrong, but their is something about it being really vintage that adds to my love of vintage Halloween.
That being said, I refuse to pay high prices for “vintage” anything, faux or real.
I needed a hanging for my cupboard door for Halloween, I wanted a vintage look, I even purchased some felt on sale at Michaels for it, but quickly changed my mind when I came across a plastic canvas pattern on Pinterest.
Of course I had to reinvent the pattern to fit onto a larger rectangular canvas, you can click on the photo to be taken to my made up pattern.

I did the pattern up after I made the hanging so if you have any questions or mistakes are found, leave me a comment here, thank you.
It took awhile but I love my less then $2 faux Halloween hanging, I joked with hubz, I need to start on the Christmas one now, deciding the pattern is half the challenge.
Shout out to anyone here reading that belongs to the Halloween or Plastic Canvas groups who helped me decide on backgrounds, going with adding borders and cream fill in turned out to be just what I was looking for.

My mom had a light up pumpkin that looked almost like that last one. I think I still have it somewhere. I need to search for it before Halloween. 😀 I love all the retro stuff.

This year we got so lucky with finding these two, im over the moon. I hope we find just one xmas one….i mean they are everywhere to buy but cost more then I am willing to spend lol. Ive set a $20 max and it best be a great piece

I have been so busy outside in my garden I am just now back online again but back outside once again after a quick check in with everyone.. I always pre-schedule my post. I have one coming up where I tried to make some faux antique Halloween decor with some clay I had left over from another project. It did not come out like these pieces though. You did a great job. I am still sharing my attempt at the faux decor because even those nail it moments are fun to share, mistakes and all. Love the cat you did and all the cool thrift store Halloween decor.
