I’m not sure how much more space we have on our lawn for Halloween decor before it looks muddled together or tacky, but for now Hubz and I keep adding every year.
I love the Dollar Store for pieces to use for Halloween, any holiday really.
Back in August when the shelves were slowly being stocked we came across these cute skeleton dogs. I have seen similar ones at Micheal’s for $26. I knew by buying it I was committing to building a dog house for him.
While Hubz mostly built it, it was a creative effort from both of us.
We had pieces of 1×2 1×3 and 1×4 pine in the garage, and plywood, odds and ends from old projects and home renos, as well as bits and pieces from free bins throughout our town.
We had leftover paints as well, this dog house was not going to be polished, and that’s ok, it’s the exact look we were looking for, rustic, creepy for cheapy!
His bowl is an old dog bowl and stand I had, I painted it black, added moss to the bowl and some rubber dollar store eyeballs.
Meet Onyx and his snazzy house
Oh and I made him a fabric bandana!
Here is a look at our front yard this year
