I hear the fanny pack is back! I must admit as a young mom I wore one or two on outings with the kids, but back in fashion or not, this is one 80’s- 90’s trend I will not be revisiting.
The ones available in 2019 at least look cute & sporty, I find they are often marketed as waist bags, and hip packs NOT FANNY PACKS.
Why were they ever called that? Where you suppose to wear them over your fanny?
I noticed some modern “acid” washed jeans popping up as well, now those I’d buy and rock again! Hopefully this means the high waist “mom jean” look is out!
I predict retro fanny packs and acid washed jeans being the thrift store “find” of the year.
I must up my game and find a pair of acid jeans while thrifting for a Christmas craft I’ve had in mind!
Speaking of thrift stores, 80s fashion, and crafts….
I love finding retro fabrics to up-cycle, I found what looks to be fabric from the 80s.
It reminds me of a pattern I would have used for grade 8 home ed class to make my final project on the sewing machine, elastic waist shorts.
Or on one of the wind breaker suits everyone was rocking, what were we thinking!
While I won’t be rocking a fanny pack anytime soon, I do love cross body bags and 80’s colours & patterns.

I must admit I am waiting for the banana hair clip to COME BACK!
For some time now I’ve also been on the hunt for a retro baby doll dress! Remember those?
I would have worn them then with doc martens and will now rock one with my black military style boots & jacket or my baby blue docs & jean jacket.
With my choker necklace, which I had many in the 90’s and was ecstatic when they resurfaced a few years ago.
While I don’t much like floral prints, there is something about it on the right dress, mixed with the right accessories, that appeals to me.
Before I go let me share this 70’s- 80’s fabric that called my name.
The truth is, I ran back to the thrift store the next day hoping it was still there because I was on the fence with it being floral, but love how my beach bag turned out!

The freezy cozies are brilliant and great use of awesome vintage fabric! Those fanny packs were handy back in the day – kind of glad they’re coming back but with a bit of fashion sense involved!

Every time I take the dog for a walk I never want to take my purse but want my phone and keys and glasses – fanny packs work so darn good but they are so unattractive and have a bad fashion rap lol hurray for updated fashion versions.

Thats so true! In the winter i have my coat but summer there is nowhere for phones and keys. Ive seen fanny packs for dogs too! They carrt their own poop bags etc lol. We have a bag prepacked at the door for trips with them. Poop bags water bowls toys and treats

The dresses are so comfy! Thanks…i made it for some.day trips and maybe our trip to Niagra…gonna look like a tourist who just stepped off the 80s bus lol

Love the bag and the fabric colors are really pretty. Just now getting back on, my computer was acting slow and we had to clear out some virus and cookies. I can finally start commenting again. I love shopping for vintage fabrics, that is one of my favorite things to do. You picked some good ones.
