Vampires, hate them or love them? I must admit I have always loved a good vampire love story, I try to explain my fascination as intrigue with forbidden love stories, and if you replace the leading vampire with James Dean you have yourself a good old fashion bad boy love story.
I cant speak for others but I was always that girl who loved a good BAD boy.
Where could this post possibly be going, I could tell you how I’ve loved vampires long before Edward in the Twilight series, I could take you back to the 90’s when I was a very young adult glued to the television watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and loving Spike and Angel, then my huge crush on Angel ( David Boreanaz) that lead me to watching most shows and movies he was ever in but forever fantasizing about him as the vamp Angel. I’ve re-watched the entire Angel series twice now!
I’ve read many vamp love stories after Twilight, some in the same teen genre and some more adult. House of Night, Women of the Other World ( it has all your supernatural characters not just vamps) and of course The Mortal Instruments ( again more than just Vamps) which I’ve also watched the movie then turned show on Netflix! to name some of my favourites. I watched the Vampire Diaries show too.
Speaking of vamps and Netflix, a get together weeks ago got us to talking with friends and hubz now on the Game of Thrones band wagon, but also my love of vampire stories came up and my friend told me about a Netflix movie he had watched that was “hilarious”.
I should of known better, the same guy who was trying to convince me G.O.T was somehow a Shakespearean production couldn’t possibly be recommending a good movie to me!
I can’t even begin to critique it, watch it for yourself lol,

What We Do in the Shadows (2014)

Be warned it is a FICTION vampire documentary, such a train wreck but I couldn’t look away lol, ever feel like that? a show or movie is horrible but you’re invested, so you must see how it plays out?
Are you still with me? Good, let’s get to why I set out to do this post!
Weather it’s an actor or musician from your youth, I think we all have at least one we will always immortalize in our minds through the decades.
While I admit I poke fun at bands like The Rolling Stones & Aerosmith for taking the stage as senior citizens, and I refused to pay $300 minimum for Guns & Roses tickets to see an old Axl Rose on stage, some stars will go with me to the grave, immortalized as their younger selves.
Where are my JOHNNY DEPP fans at? I have been re-watching 21 Jump Street on Amazon Prime, I am up to season 3 now and knowing I will be done it soon invokes a sense of emptiness. I traveled back to the late 80s where I and many more fell in love with officer Tom Hanson! Johnny will always be Tom in my eyes, my good BAD BOY crush, my James Dean.
I promise this post is about to make sense, so far you’re probably wondering what does Johnny have to do with vampires, even though he did play one in Dark Shadows, it’s not that.
Quick fact: I was not a fan of the Dark Shadows movie , my favorite JD movie is however What’s Eating Gilbert Grape!
Ok JD & Vampires
I discovered a little thing recently, Johnny is in a band with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry called HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES!
There you have it my friends I WANT TO BE IMMORTAL, as in a groupie of the Hollywood vamps!
I’ve never actaully been a groupie! even following Matchbox 20 around I have never met any of them, not even My ROB. I was and am the shy girl who befriended his security instead. Mr Jason Browning went on to be his manager and when I attended a show he came to greet me like I was an old friend, sometimes it’s the “little” people in our lives that matter.
He passed away at a very young age a few years ago and the shows will never be the same for me!
However ladies and gents, next to Rob Thomas and David Boreanaz, Mr Johnny Depp is one of my hall passes, and I’d cash that in happily!
HERE is a link to one of The Vamp’s videos, it is a cover of David Bowie’s Heros, THANK YOU GOOGLE! They have an album coming out tomorrow, June 21 2019, I must find it!
Hollywood Vampires is an American rock supergroup formed in 2015 by Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry
The band name derives from The Hollywood Vampires, a celebrity drinking club formed by Cooper in the 1970s which included but was not limited to: John Lennon and Ringo Starr of The Beatles, Keith Moon of The Who, and Micky Dolenz of The Monkees.
Touring members include or have included Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum of Guns N’ Roses fame, as well as Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots.
Originally named after a drinking club consisting of mainly Cooper, Micky Dolenz, Elton John, John Lennon, with other rotating members such as Keith Moon and Harry Nilsson. The main mission of the original Hollywood Vampires was to drink until no one could basically stand up.

Before I go, the picture of the cross at the top for anyone who does not know, it is an ankh, it’s meaning is variations of “life” A cross with a loop at the top.

I have one tattooed on my lower back, on my spine, to represent life after an accident that almost paralyzed and killed me.

No one however is immortal and we need to live as such! Our youth crushes are aging and dying, as unfortunately so are we.

Live as if you are dying but at the same time immortal, eat the cake, take the trip, get the tattoo, jump from a plane……………….

  1. Remember Nightmare on elm street? Johnny Depp was in that when he was really young, think it was his first movie…that was scary. I was trying to get into the American version of Dark Shadows last week but finally I gave it up because it was just too silly with their over the top acting. I love my zombie movies, they make me laugh. There are two really beautifully shot vampire horror movies I liked when I watched them. One is Swedish I think called Let the right one in, and the other one is 30 days of night. They aren’t love stories but they are so creepy and sometimes I will watch something for the cinematography and even turn the sound down to study the style. My husband and I love our photography art.

    • I love arsty fartsy movies too…u may like the NF one i mentioned it was just too silly for me me lol but give them a for effort on uniqueness. I did know JD was on elm street..forgot but did know! The original dark shadows is on prime.i keep meaning to watch. I cant do creepy lol if its cute creepy im good
