Hello from my very own Dandelion Bouquets domain! My two oldest children set it up and gifted it to me for Christmas!
I sat down today with a cup of tea in an adorable Canadian mug I won during our Christmas party to change the look of the site, I apologize to anyone who may have visited during the chaos and I hope everyone likes the new look.
Christmas didn’t feel like Christmas too much this year, I think the lack of snow and the everyday fear that Hubz and I would end up with the flu next sucked the joy out of it, and even though we managed to avoid the flu I rocked a nice sinus infection and a painful pulled neck muscle during Christmas Eve and Day.
None the less we made it through the holidays with smiles on our faces and can now enter this one into the books.
This plaque my sister in law (brothers wife)gifted me made me smile the most. We are a blended family, Hubz helped raise my 3 children from a previous marriage ( they were very young) and we have a son together, my sister in law has been my best friend for 16+ years as well and the older children’s partners joined us for our Christmas, so this saying is near and dear to my heart.
FAMILY ISN’T WHO’S BLOOD YOU CARRY
IT’S WHO YOU LOVE AND WHO LOVES YOU BACK
It hangs here above my computer desk, to remind me going forward I am blessed with “family” even through all changes that have and will occur I will never lack “family”
As part of our Christmas fun we visited a light show at a local camp ground ( Hubz has wanted to do this for a few years and so I pushed for it to happen) I wasn’t very impressed by it but the joy of family time with Hubz, our youngest and our doggo Lux made up for what the light show lacked, also a portion of admission goes to charity.
Our son taped along the way and I took a few photos.
Finally I have to mention something my other sister in law (hubz sister) said as my mother in law gifted us all dog Santa sacs for all our fur babies, it made me laugh and I felt a little less alone with our family in transition. She laughed as she said our dogs are now our kids at Christmas. It also reminds me of the plaques quote, our pets are very much our family, and loved by extended family as well, as you can see by our Lux’s joy as she plays with her gifts from Grandma and Mom and Dad.
I hope everyone had a good holiday, however and with whomever you celebrated with, with NYE coming up this grandma has the privilege of kitten sitting our daughters brand new kitten Binoo, while she is on a trip.
We had her overnight last week and our fur babies didn’t seem to embrace the whole its who you love thing, they all gave us the look of IT BEST NOT BE STAYING!
